Joyce A. Bobolts joins the Ruth Mott Foundation as Director of Finance and Administration

February 18, 2015, Flint, MI – The Ruth Mott Foundation has hired Joyce A. Bobolts of Grand Rapids, Michigan to fill the Director of Finance and Administration position.

Bobolts will provide leadership for the Ruth Mott Foundation’s finance, accounting, grants management, human resources and office administration functions.

“We are delighted to have someone of Joyce’s experience, energy, and leadership join the staff as the Director of Finance,” said Handy Lindsey Jr., President of the Ruth Mott Foundation.

“It’s exciting to be able to leverage more than twenty-years of experience in Philanthropy to help further the mission of the Ruth Mott Foundation,” says Bobolts. “I’m looking forward to moving closer to extended family and getting to know the Flint community. Everyone has been so welcoming it already feels like home.”

The Michigan native earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters of Business Administration degree in accounting from Michigan State University. She and her husband grew up in Saginaw, Michigan and have two adult sons that both reside here as well.

Prior to joining the Ruth Mott Foundation, Bobolts served as Director of Finance at the Frey Foundation in Grand Rapids, Michigan for twenty-one years. There she served as a trusted member of the Foundation’s executive leadership team and advised the Foundation’s President and Trustees on important financial, investment, office operations, human resources and IT matters.

Bobolts previously worked for Ernst & Young as a tax consultant. 

The Ruth Mott Foundation, located in Flint, currently grants about $6 million annually to support new ideas in arts and culture, beautification and health promotion in Flint and Genesee County.
