Storytime at Applewood

The Ruth Mott Foundation invites you to FREE family friendly Storytime at Applewood! Online registration is strongly encouraged as supplies are limited. RSVP:
This week we will read “My Car” by Byron Barton. Bright, graphic artwork invites readers to count, name colors and shapes, and follow Sam and his car as they drive through a bustling world from Sam’s home in the country to his job in the city. The surprise ending is a gem! “For young children intrigued by cars, this book is simply wonderful.”—ALA Booklist Supports the Common Core Standards.
After story time we will play “What is the missing piece?” Puzzles will be partially put together with several pieces missing. It is the kid’s responsibility to try and find the proper piece for the proper place. This is to simulate what it would be like to locate a broken part in a car and then fix that piece. It also relates to C.S in the sense that as an engineer you have to find solutions to problems, and this is an example of that.
There will also be a Taste of Applewood for everyone to enjoy!
Storytime at Applewood takes place every Friday at 11:30 a.m.
*Every event will be interpreted by an ASL professional.
