STORYTIME AT APPLEWOOD
Every Friday at 11:30 a.m.
Through books and fun activities, young children and their families are invited to get to know new friends while exploring the world around us. Our stories celebrate the beauty of the natural world, the joy of growing foods and flowers, and the diversity of people who make up our community. Each family friendly Storytime at Applewood is followed by a relevant hands-on activity. Learn more.
Story times that fall on the first and third Fridays of the month are ASL interpreted.
BRING YOUR LUNCH & LEARN
First Friday of the month at noon
The popular workshop series is back this year with a focus on our city of Flint. Each presentation will look at an aspect of Flint’s history and its relevance today. Hear expertise from Applewood staff and community partners, and explore Flint on a deeper level. Come to one or come to all. Sessions are family friendly.
All sessions are ASL interpreted.
PEACE & QUIET HOURS
Every Sunday 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
During this time, guests are encouraged to enjoy Applewood’s beauty and tranquil surroundings and help us keep a calm and reflective atmosphere. Peace & Quiet Hours are great for meditation or a peaceful walk. *NEW* We’re partnering with the Crim Fitness Foundation to bring Yoga in the Gardens to Applewood at 1 p.m. each Sunday in June!
Event days are excluded from Peace & Quiet Hours. See our Calendar.
SHARE YOUR STORY
Fridays from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at Applewood (Anytime online)
We’re collecting personal stories that highlight the community’s connections to the Mott family, Applewood, and the city of Flint. Your stories will help us preserve our collective history, compile feedback, and share these anecdotes with our community. Whether it is your memories of C.S. and Ruth Mott, your favorite Applewood experience, or your partnership with the Ruth Mott Foundation, we want to hear your story.
TASTE OF APPLEWOOD
Every open day
Our signature Taste of Applewood program celebrates Applewood’s history as a gentleman’s farm, when the gardens provided the Mott family with the fresh fruits and vegetables they needed throughout the year. Made with ingredients grown right here at the estate, a Taste of Applewood is given to each guest upon every visit.
