Applewood volunteers are valued members of the Ruth Mott Foundation team. Through volunteering at Applewood, community members are given the opportunity to participate in their community and support the Foundation’s community engagement efforts. Visitor Services Support

Greet guests and create a welcoming environment through excellent customer service. Volunteers based at the Visitor Services desk provide more in-depth visitor support, including wheelchair access, tour information, book sales, and the Taste of Applewood program.

House Tour Area Guide

Provide outstanding visitor experiences by facilitating self-guided tours of the main house. Share with visitors the history of the Mott home and family, as well as the enduring legacy of C.S. and Ruth Mott: their extraordinary commitment to civic participation.

Education Support

Assist with programs for youth and adult groups with hands-on activities that reinforce the enduring legacy of C.S. and Ruth Mott: their extraordinary commitment to civic participation.

Horticulture Support

Support the horticulture staff with tasks around the grounds or in the greenhouse, which could include planting, weeding, or harvesting fruit.
