Storytime at Applewood

Event Details

We encourage you to wear your family friendly Halloween costumes! We will read “Possum’s Harvest Moon” by author Anne Hunter.  When Possum wakes up one evening and sees the full harvest moon, he decides to throw one last party before the long winter. But everyone is too busy preparing for winter and it looks as if nobody will come to Possum’s party.

You can drop in between 11:30 a.m.–12:15 p.m. to visit our Storytime stations.

  • For safety, masks are strongly recommended for everyone age 2 and older.
  • Physical distancing is required among groups.
  • Storytime is outdoors. Please dress for the day’s weather and bring your sunscreen, bug spray, and chairs or blankets to sit on if you prefer.

We will also read the story over Facebook Live for those who prefer to join us virtually: https://www.facebook.com/ApplewoodEstate

For those interested in contributing, we will be a collection site for items needed at the Franklin Avenue Mission for the remainder of our open season, through the end of October. Items specifically in need are children’s undergarments and socks, and infant items. We will have donation bins at each entrance gate for anyone who chooses to donate during our open days. Thank you!
