Flint Youth Engagement Center & Coalition 2022
GearUp2Lead
Project support to GearUp2Lead for the Flint Youth Engagement Center and Coalition project. GearUp will support ongoing operations of the Flint & Genesee Opportunity Youth Coalition, a group of approximately 30 community partners who work with opportunity youth in Flint and Genesee County. Opportunity Youth are defined as young people ages 16 to 24 who are unemployed and not attending school. The grant will also support the establishment a new one-stop supportive service “Youth Engagement Center” at Sylvester Broome Empowerment Village located in north Flint. The Center will provide youth with appropriate pathways to finish school and/or gain meaningful employment through needs assessments and intensive individualized support services.
